And that's our Saturday breakfast .. Rava Idli with green chutney.
Rava Idli |
I was not a fan of rava idli as however hard you try, they can never have the softness fluffyness of our normal soaked urad-rice idlis. But then we started adding veggies, masalas, n then realised this makes the rava idlis special.

0️⃣ Soak about 1.5 C of fine rava (semolina) in sufficient curd - till it's thick paste. For abot 20 - 30 mins atleast.
1️⃣ Add finely chopped onion, coriander leaves, grated carrot ( optional - green chillies and cashew nuts). Temper with Asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves. I don't add soda.
2️⃣ Put this in the greased idli mould.steam in cooker/ steamer for twenty mins.
3️⃣ Remove from mould once it cools.
Serve with chutney or ketchup. Or have it just like that.
